Lovely Ladies' Luncheon

Mom and I thoroughly enjoyed hosting a Vintage House Ladies' Luncheon's at our sweet little venue in old downtown Overland Park.  We loved making the preparations for the event...creating unique tablescapes for each table.  For this particular luncheon, we chose to use some of our vintage crocks and bottles, garnishing them with amazingly beautiful faux wild flowers that we discovered.  We used vintage lace and crocheted doilies which created a beautiful base for the lovely crock center pieces.

Decorating each place setting was simply put together ~ using our collection of lovely old ironstone plates ~ old crocheted lace was used to loosely tie the sprig of fresh picked purple salvia to the vintage silverware ~ soft green linen napkins ~ and, lastly, a little seed packet of hollyhock seeds harvested from The Vintage House Garden hollyhocks, which were given to each guest as a token of our appreciation.

Homemade Sangria was served, with artisan bread dipped in garlic and basil infused olive oil, and a refreshing summer luncheon recipe ~ Orzo Stuffed Tomatoes with Pinenuts nestled on a bed of arugula that had been tossed with fresh lemon juice and olive oil, and sprinkled with salt and pepper.

We prepared a White Chocolate Mousse Tart with Raspberry Sauce for dessert...a delicious lunch that seemed to be enjoyed by all the ladies who joined us this beautiful ~ though very hot ~ summer day!

If you would like to host your own ladies' luncheon,

A lovely comment from one of our lovely guests...
